If you love being transported to an old English manor, surrounded by intrigue, mystery, antiques, fine china, and romance, then this is the book for you! Barbara Hinske is now on my favorite author list!

I love Garth so much. I love hearing what he is thinking. He has made me laugh out loud. I have known seeing eye dogs, and I’m sure this is spot on. This series is so awesome. You may just learn something while enjoying a great story and wonderful characters.

If only Rosemont were real! This is a book where the story has stayed with me long after I finished reading it.

The story builds with romance and mystery enough to keep you turning the pages and wishing your own life could be on hold for a few hours while you enjoy watching Maggie blossom.

Barbara has a wonderful knack of describing life in a small community, with all of it’s old-timers and characters with such livid words that the pictures of the events flow into your mind. They are through provoking, realistic, emotional and real to the extent that you want to make a road-trip to Rosemont

I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. Loved it and have recommended the entire series it to a couple of friends.

The characters have become almost friends. They have changed, grown as people while experiencing joy and tragedy and everything in between.

Barbara Hinske has a knack for intertwining stories and characters and making you fall in love with each and every one of them. I look forward to each new book in this series. When I’m not reading them, I miss the characters and the dogs in these books (if you are a dog lover, you will enjoy these books). Once I started reading Shelving Doubts I couldn’t put it down until all was revealed at the end. These books leave you wanting more of the story. Can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

Having just finished this fifth book in the Rosemont series, I found the series, and this book in particular, encouraging and constructive. In addition to suspense and romance, there are interesting, contemporary themes–accepting others for their good qualities, rejoicing with others in their successes, helping others in need, showing hospitality, and many others. I loved the emphasis on therapy dogs–being therapy to the owners as well as to others experiencing health issues and other stressful situations.The evil characters eventually are confronted and have to pay for their misdeeds, and the honest, caring characters prosper in various ways. This novel and the other four in the series are well written and engaging. All the main characters are so well developed that I feel that I know them personally.

Quite a bit of drama and uncertain turns of events kept me hooked to this book. I enjoy the rich character development and clean writing style.

I see why this would make a wonderful Hallmark movie! The author has a gift for weaving together seemingly unrelated stories into a delightful quilt.

Ms Hinske has created a time and place where people think of others and feel great for being able to do so. Each of her characters are people we would all like to meet.

If you need a pick me up or a sense of well being, this is a story you will like very much.

Barbara Hinske has the talent to twist a story around and take the reader right with her. My favorite books are those that I cannot predict as to where the storyline will lead. Just loved the entire novella and great for Christmas gifts.

I knew from page one I was not in Rosemont at the moment. A page turner. From the first paragraph I could not wait to see this story unfold. It tells the story of how one deceitful person can harm so many lives. The intertwining of characters was great. You just did not know who was capable of doing what. Do not want to give the plot away because it is a fabulous read right from the first sentence.

As I started reading this book I was instantly shocked but also hooked by the middle of the first chapter. When I read, I get totally immersed in what I am reading and this book takes you to each scene as though you are there yourself. The anticipation of what is going to happen next in this compelling “who done it” will keep you on the edge of your seat until you’ve finished the last chapter. Well done, Barbara Hinske!!

As someone with a service dog, I could relate to many of the circumstances from this book. I especially loved the aspect from Garth. This book was entertaining, thrilling and heartbreaking all together. I read it within a day, it captured me and I couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to other reads. Excellent book, you’ll love it as much as I did.

I really enjoyed this novel. I have worked with pupils with a visual impairment and a great deal of it rang true. Garth is a wonderful dog and the whole system of training him and the way he works with the Emily was brilliant. I wasn’t a fan of Connor any more than Garth was – they say dogs are good judges of character!

Another winner from Barbara Hinske. With real characters that you can relate to and Issues that affect so many of us, it is easy to become buried in this book right away. And I did. Finished it in one sitting because I wanted to know what was going to happen. Barbara’s books always keep your interest and this book is no different. I encourage you to read this book and all her books. You won’t be sorry.

Barbara Hinske always introduces characters that become your friends and sets her novels so that you are immediately drawn in and your interest is held to the end, which is always neatly tied together, often in a surprising and unexpected way. This novel is no different. I really did stay up most of the night to finish it on the day I bought it. Paws and Pastries is a sweet triumphant Christmas offering you won’t want to miss.

Ms. Hinske brings the characters in this series to life, they feel like people we meet in our every day life, our friends and neighbors. Especially in this difficult times in all our lives its perfect Ms. Hinske to escape into this well written series.

I loved every bit of it. The characters are so special and the way they care for each other just makes my heart feel good. The story line is so wonderful, you’ll just want to keep reading. This book has a little of everything, mystery, love, family, surprises, and the warmth of small-town living.
